every time i download stonehearth from steam latest build or stable i get to play it for about 5-10 minutes then the game crashes my computer. i know its the game because its the only factor that changes between when my computer works and doesn’t. I am still able to run other games fine without crashing my pc.

Have you tried playing with the 32-bit version of the game? Some people are having crashes with the 64bit version.
Also, if your OS is Windows 7, make sure that you have Service Pack 1 installed.
