[Confirmed] SGT2 Bug: shadow flickering, triangles and waves

Summary:

Under some conditions (position of the model and related shadow) the shadows of this models are showing unexpected effects, i.e. shadows are looking not natural:

  • Flickering of shadows on all models.
  • Triangles showing up where shadows should be.
  • Shadows are “moving like waves”.

Steps to reproduce:

Flickering… always visible. No special activity required. Includes trees.

Triangles… requires special position of the “sun” to the model. Might be influenced by nearby trees. Seed 666 worked several times for me to reproduce the effect.

Waves… same as “triangles”.

Have those waves (they are real waves as in they are moving) at ground elevations too when looking from the side. They dissapear when looking perpendicular to the elevation.

This is exactly what I see with most of the shadows. In the report at the top I am referring to them as “flickering” as there is another wave-like-effect which I can see.

I would call mine waves tho, as the really look like waves, they are not flickering

moving shadow from her head is having small white/empty dots or spots (left shoulder and on the ground behind her legs) looks like there are spaces between the qubics so the lights goes through.

I can confirm this one. It is not a constant “whole” but they are appearing and disappearing very fast.

and those appeared only at certain light angels, so i had to wait whole ingame day to make an screenshot

thanks for all the confirmations and supplemental details folks! we’re going to start updating thread titles accordingly…

Still in R393 (or some similar issue). See attached video at 49:16.
