Issues with the Cook Queue breaking

I was, again, playing Alpha 12, and my Potter Cook, and my Potter Cook only, started to bug out(I forgot to copy the error  but I may be able to trigger the bug again) and it told me to reset the UI. After resetting, the menu for the Potter Cook, and the Potter Cook only, did not display a queue. I restarted my computer, but it didnā€™t seem to affect the UI.

Hey there @Void_Justice, are you sure you mean the Potter? The potter is not yet in the game .

What am I saying? It isnā€™t a potter, it is a cook! Too excited for the new alphas

OK. Cook. That makes a lot more sense.

Let me make sure I understand fully this time: You got a UI error while working with the Cook, you reset the UI using F5, and now the Cook does not display a queue, even after saving and reloading the game.

Assuming I didnā€™t miss anything, I am going to ask you again for a save upload. In order to upload a save, upload your save folder from you computer (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games by default if installed via Steam) to a cloud storage site like Dropbox or Google Drive, and then copy the sharing link here.

Okay. So you are right about the process, but I donā€™t use steam. I just download from the Humble Bundle Site. Is there a way for me to get the save file from my position?

Hey there @Void_Justice, thanks for your patience, I had to figure it out myself. The default location for Humble Bundle should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Stonehearth\saved_games.

On my computer, my Stonehearth folder shows 4 folders, many .pak, .dll, .dat, and .json files. The folders are named ā€œlocalesā€, ā€œmodsā€, ā€œsaved_objectsā€, and ā€œx64ā€. None of these folders have anything like saved_games, though.

OKā€¦that is odd. Let me look into this further, it is possible that the Humble Bundle stores saves somewhere entirely different.

Edit: While I look into this, going to page @8BitCrab, @SteveAdamo, @Relyss, any idea whatā€™s going on here?

Edit 2: @Void_Justice, try looking here: C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\stonehearth\saved_games

Through this way, I found stuff from the old client(I assume). I only assume, because the folders inside of the ā€˜saved_gamesā€™ are labeled numbers, which I assume are world seed numbers. When I created my world, I recorded down the world seed, and it doesnā€™t match the folder name. This brings up another question from me. When I wanted to get the Alpha 12 update, I went back to Humble Bundle and re-download Stonehearth. Iā€™m not sure if this was the right thing to do. Could you clarify for me please?

ā€“ Thank you

They are not the seeds for the saved gameā€¦in all honesty I have no idea how they are generatedā€¦but definitely not the game seed. Assuming you this is the last game you saved, just look for the most recently updated folder in details view:

Check that details view is enabled (red circle bottom right corner of image), and then look at date modified.

They donā€™t match up by date/time eitherā€¦ hmmā€¦

Okā€¦Let me keep looking into thisā€¦Iā€™ll be back (eventually)

hey there @Void_Justice, you do make sure to un-install the old version of stonehearth before installing a new version, right? if not, then it could cause some serious problems.

i only ask as that might be the cause of the save game folder not being up to date, or even presentā€¦

Oh. I will try to un-install it, but how does the game save without having a save folderā€¦ I have restarted the game and my computer, and my worlds are still in tactā€¦ just wondering

well like i said, if you have multiple alpha versions it can cause problems, one of such might be different alphas files getting mixed around into each other.

In my older clientā€™s save folder, it doesnā€™t have any other savesā€¦ In my new client folder, it doesnā€™t have a save file. The question is, where are these saves? I think it is safe to say it isnā€™t in the old save folderā€¦ I am really confused

You and me bothā€¦as you stated, they are definitely somewhere, as the game is seeing them. How do you ā€œlaunchā€ the game? (as in link in start menu, icon on desktop, some type of game launcher)

Another question: Is the crash_reporter.exe a collective pastebin of sorts that has all of the crash reports, or is it a program that sends crash reports to you guys, or is it a program that displays to me that one time the specifics of the crash?

Hey there @Void_Justice, hold on for a sec, @yshan is reading the thread nowā€¦

I have a shortcut to the Stonehearth application. I will try to find where the actual application is from. Give me a moment
